The energy was full of potential as they shared their ideas and dreams for the future of the Arbor. Kumari encourages Medvarius to share his vision, while collaborating with her to keep the business grounded. In that moment, they understood each other. Heath teaches that green is the color of balance. He recalls his time as a Spirit Scout at Camp Spirit and his passion for exploring the Old Grounds. With his worn hand-me-down divining rod in hand, he wondered What lies beneath the surface? He explored the grounds with his companion, where he discovered his purpose was to dig and share the glory of what was. He lost track of his troop companion. He muses that he is fortunate to be a spirit, where there will be no interruptions to scholarly research.

Heath teaches that yellow is the color of hope. He reminisces about his days at Denforth University, where he spent most of his time in the library. He felt connected with and supported by knowledge, and wanted to give back through writing his thesis. His thesis was about Pivotal Bear Theory, which demonstrates how brave, altruistic actors are corrective forces to the brutal chaptures of history. His goal was to bring hope and inspire all who read it to step out of the shadows and do good. The theory was not wholeheartedly accepted and there was debate. He believes that future bears will confirm what he discovered.

Heath remembers a conversation with Orsina about Cozander the Late. Cozander was the first bear to converse with ghosts and the original Spirit Scout. He considers Cozander a Pivotal Bear. When he and Orsina would explore the Old Grounds, they would come across spirits. Orsina wondered why Heath pestered them with questions while they're sad and hungry. Orsina didn't know who Cozander was, so Heath shared comics with him, which she paged through. She didn't like that Cozander was depicted with exaggerated muscles and aura, and thought it made him look creepy. Heath did not debate with her about artistic license. When he left camp that summer, he noticed Orsina didn't step off the bus. Heath's father told him that Orsina had been given permission to stay extra long to continue studying at Camp Spirit.

Heath tried luring Cozander while wearing a mask of his disciples. He encountered a humbly-dressed spirit with a head full of snakes. He recognized her as Cozander's first and most female disciple. She mistook Heath for Cozander, called him a fraud and a liar, and told him to leave or be eternally banished. |
Cozander[]
Lorelle of the Pine[]
The mortal behind a myth so powerful, even she couldn't control it.
1. | ![]() |
Lorelle lived in a village full of famine and suffering, and had compassion for bears and spirits alike. Though her mother warned her to never speak to spirits because she could be punished as a witch, after her mother died she sought out and soothed spirits. Among the spirits was her mother. She is happy to see spirit soothers living openly, but cautions that boundless kindness and trusting all can lead to undoing.

Lorelle recalls Garben, a lazy and dishonest disciple of Cozander who pretended to be a great banisher of spirits, even though his success was mostly luck. He often took credit for others' hard work, stealing rewards and praise he hadn't earned. Lorelle wanted to reveal his lies, but knew speaking out would put her in danger. Instead, she stayed silent. |
