Craw is a companion in Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit. She can look for Hidden Objects and Dig Mounds.

She is involved with Sofia's quests.

Dialogue

When the player first encounters Craw.

Craw: The small furry animal casually looks off into the distance.
She looks like a dog, but her bark kinda sounds like a crow's caw?
Who is this creature? So mysterious...

Scout: <Stare off into the distance yourself>

Craw: The animal subtly tries to edge her way back into your field of vision.
Her own gaze on the distance hasn't strayed.

(Returns the player to the answer selection, minus this one)

Scout: What are you supposed to be?

Craw: She does not respond, and seems to be gazing at something off in the distance.
But then you notice that she's definitely eyeing you. Just trying to appear like she is not.

(Returns the player to the answer selection, minus this one)

Scout: <Extend your hand>

Craw: She gently presses her nose into your palm, and sniffs you hand cautiously.
Something about your scent makes her eyes light up!

Craw: She drops a ticket stub form a concert at your feet. Despite carrying it in her mouth, it is immaculately preserved.
You pick it up and look at it. It's for a band you've never heard of...
Hey, there's some writing scratched on the back! It reads:
Craw Tracker of Undiscovered Gems
You lower it, and gaze at your new furry friend.
She peers up at you from underneath her bands.

Scout: Who's a good girl?

Craw: She shakes her head.

(Returns the player to the answer selection, minus this one)

Scout: Nice to meet you, Craw.

Craw: Her tail starts wagging, cautiously at first.
She's trying to play it cool, but it seems like she wants to follow you.

Craw discovers something.

Quest 1

Craw needs:

Craw: Craw's gaze is studiously transfixed upon a strange object on the ground.
It looks like... a telegram? Where did that come from?
She reads the message, occasionally glancing from the text to you, and back. Then she takes a long look at you.
She gingerly bites the message and presents it to you.

Scout: <Take the telegram from her>

Craw: She suddenly pulls back, glaring at you.
The moment passes, and she one again seems eager for you to receive the message.

(Returns the player to the answer selection, minus this one)

Scout: <Hold out my open hand and wait>

Craw: She nudges the telegram directly into your hand.

Craw: You hold it up and begin to read.
Congratulations Craw! Your have successfully tracked a missing castaway, completing you initiation into P.A.W.S. (Program to Assist Wayward Scouts.)
Your ongoing mission will be to provide companionship and assistance to the scout until a rescue operation can be mounted.
Periodically, you will receive P.A.W.S. challenges. Have your scout take photos documenting your progress.
Submit your photos to earn badges. Badges will help you track when you're ready to unlock new companion skills, which will enable you to assist your scout in new ways!{Note: due to the possibility of delivering unpleasant news, it is advised that you avoid letting your scout to read you P.A.W.S. telegrams and challenges.)
We require confirmation of which scout you located. Please submit a photo of you with your human companion at your earliest convenience.
Good luck out ther, and remember the P.A.W.S motto: All Who Are Lost Deserve Helpful Little Buddies.
You lower the telegram.

Scout: Why did I do that? I wan to tread it again.

Craw: ???

Scout: Want to take a picture with me?

Craw: She shrugs and appears disinterested, but her tail is wagging so hard that her butt is shaking.

The player then needs to take the requested picture and give it to Craw.

Craw: Craw slurps up the photograph in a blink. Hey! You just took that!
Her eyes begin to glow. Oh no! Is she okay?
The air starts to fill with a strange crackling...
CONFIRMATION: ACCEPTED
Scout Identity: REGISTERED
Badge Obtained: SEEDLING
The crackling dissipates. Craw's eyes have regained their usual appearance.
She beams up at you, looking incredibly pleased.

Quest 2

Craw needs:

Craw: Craw is trying to act casual, but her tail betrays some urgency.
She makes a weird horking sound, and a telegram from P.A.W.S. emerges out of her mouth.
You delicately pluck the telegram from between her teeth, and begin to read.
Excellent work, Craw! All metrics indicate your start as a P.A.W.S. companion has been exemplary.
We feel you are ready for the P.A.W.S. Knowledge Challenge!
Locate the best source of comprehensive knowledge of the area where your scout is stranded.
You lower the telegram, and see Craw staring up at you.
She seems eager to go exploring.

The player will need to take the requested picture.

Craw: Craw approaches the photo and slowly lowers her head towards it, never taking her eyes off of you.
Her tongue gently extends out... then in a flash she starts chewing, and the photograph is gone.
An unknown source plays triumphant chimes, as Craw's eyes start glowing.
And... what's happening to her nose?
Confirmation: ACCEPTED
Area Knowlege: CONNECTED
Badge Obtained: SPROUT
Nose Upgrade: EXPANDED RANGE
Craw's eyes return to normal, save for a glint of mischievousness left behind.
She sniffs you gently. It feels like she understands you now even mroe deeply.

She keeps scratching her left ear with furious intensity.

Scout: <Scritch Craw's right ear>

Craw: She throws her head back, grinning merrily.
That's the spot. Right there. That one!

(Returns the player to the answer selection, minus this one)

Scout: <Scritch Craw's left ear>

Craw: Oh no! A piece of Craw came off?!??
Wait... no, that's just another P.A.W.S. telegram.
You pick it up and begin to read.

Craw: Greetings, Craw! Everyone at P.A.W.S. is so proud of how quickly you've adapted to one of our more complex missions.
A request has come in from the scout's family for assurance that their scout has access to sufficient resources.
Any evidence you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
You lower the telegram, and see Craw lying on their ground with her belly on display.
Thinking the better of it, she flips over onto her feet.
Yes. First work. Then play.

The player will need to take the requested picture.

Craw: Craw circles around the photograph a few times, then swallows it up.
You hear whispers and laughter that seem to be coming from the ocean, as Craw's eyes begin to glow.
You're starting to wonder... what do magical photos taste like?
Confirmation: ACCEPTED
Adequate Resources: LOCATED
Badge Obtained: SPROUT II
The laughter fades along with the unnatural glowing from Craw's eyes.
She seems so, so proud of herself.

Hey, Sounds like you're going to be stuck here awhile. That's great-- for extended stays P.A.W.S. sends a vacation home. I really needed to get away, have my own place for a bit. I'm adopted. The rest of my family are all crows. I love them, but sometimes when they're all swooping around and calling after each other, I wonder: do I really fit in? It's just, I don't know. I always felt so different. But then I see you there with your four limbs, scruff of hair, bit of slobber on your chin... I feel like you kinda get me. That's nice, or whatever. See ya, Craw

Guess what? My sense of smell just went gold. I'm picking up so many undiscovered goodies... I think I can probably help you find whatever you're looking for, no matter how obscure. Want a demo? While talking to me, use a secret phrase 'Find Hidden Object'. Unlike that soulless hint machine, I won't just give you directions-- I will personally escort you to an object you were looking to find. I put a lot of pride into my tracking, so it can use up my energy, but don't get too comfy when I'm taking a break-- I only need a minute or two to brood, then I'm fine! I have to admit, I'm a little hyped for this... Can't wait to hook you up with all of the latest and greatest stuff. If you're into that, or something. Peace, Craw

Check it out! Seems like you're starting to get hardcore into fetch. I know, it's addictive. Since you're getting the hang of it, I thought you might like trying out some of the premium stuff. I personally prefer locally sourced small batch bespoke sticks-- spent some time digging through the woods to get you a respectable starter collection. It's been really fun hanging with you, so y'know... I care about you, I guess. Don't make a whole thing about it. Catch you soon, Craw

Word... My sense of smell just went platinum! It's almost like adding a whole extra sense. So incredible... I can even sniff out choice finds that are deep underground! Wanna know the secret to this trick? Next time I'm following you, toggle my Dig ability to on. If there's a mound to dig nearby, and I've got the energy, you don't have to do a thing: I'm on it! If I'm out of energy, I'll be way too spaced to notice, but just give me a minute to fondly gaze into the abyss, and I'll be up for another sniff. You can select my Dig ability again to turn it off, but if you forget, no worries: I'll take care of that before I go do my own thing. So, Been thinking a lot these days about finding things. Finding sticks, new music, different perspectives on life. Finding you, you maybe someday getting found... Maybe it's time I tried to find myself. Tried writing a bit of poetry, thought I'd share. ... the perfect stick hangs barely clinging by fibers so far from the land ... Postal worker comes Are you threat? Friend? Here for me? Postal worker leaves ... last piece of kibble crumbly flavor explosion only bowl remains ... What do you think? You can't have the originals-- scrawled them on the back of this scrap of old paper. Would've chosen something nicer, but I wasn't expecting to have anyone I'd want to share them with when I started. The noises you have come to fear the most

Can I tell you a secret? I was a little nervous at first, heading out into the wild to find you. Growing up in a family of crows, I don't always act the way others expect from dogs, and I've been burned before by strangers taking it personally. But it's been nice at the camp, seeing all the various animals cohabitating. Misfits fitting in without squashing their individuality. Working together to meet their needs, respecting when they need to be met differently... it's pretty inspiring. Please don't spread this around. It'd ruin my mystique if anyone knew I was this cheesy. Take care, Craw

Hey there, Was thinking about those shrines. It's nice you have a way to remember old friends who have moved on. Got me thinking about you and me. I used to worry a bit, about what might happen if you get rescued. If maybe you'd leave and I'd never see you again because you'd stop being friends with me. But I'm not worried about that anymore.
